I just wanted to share with you something my son wrote about his artwork......

"Caveman"

What do I do?
Let me get this straight, I am not an artist, I am not a skilled craftsmanthat has spent his life honing his talents. I am not doing any of my work to impress people, i am not doing anything for any specific reason and I don't want money. this work that I do is purely for my entertainment and to fill the time I have left until I can do the things I really want to do in my life.

What do I have to say?
I am a musician, I spend my free time honing my talents in the musical arts, some of which may even be reflected in the artwork I have chosen to portray. I don't care about anyone's opinion for this is my work that I do for myself, despite grading or what is to be allowed and yes, I do hold standards to myself, even though you may not see it I hold the highest standards to the things that are really important to me. My favorite tools consist of misical instruments such as the guitar, hoever, in my art I prefer to use Mylar's and paint. As seen from some of my best work, I will draw what fascinates me on the front of the piece and then experiment with the back and paint and add ink or other mediums to bring more texture to the work. what I like best about I do is the accents on my Mylar's with the paint; I feel it really brings out my work. I tend to conduct all my work in ways that I haven't been taught; inorder to both cause conflict with my teacher making my artwork more original and unique and to begin forging my own styles and conduct in my media.

My favorite color is green. It is a remarkable fascinating color in myopinion and defines nature to me as the calm/destructive force of the world.

All myh work is planned from the start, I don't always create plans, but I always conduct the overture in my head. I tend to think a lot, and much of my thought process comes out in my work because of it. You may see sometimes how somithing's I do look incomlete, but then the process may continue in another piece when that thought has come back to me.

I prefer artwork that has a unique and strange, obstructive, unique or abstract quality to it, the kind of things that really define the individual. I want the raw material of a human being, the destructive violent nature mixed with the odd sense of peace and prosperity. The moral value constricted and waningin the oncoming onslaught of a persons mind. considering the way i like to conduct my art, I believe my art has come out really well, and, i am excited and happy to find that other people find interest in my work. Once again, I must say my work is just a long process and everything ties in together with my thinking, people may see that I tend to think more then I speak and by doing so I have conducted my life well.

And again, I don't claim to be an artist. I am a caveman, I am the purest and most accurate reason man has ever creataed, I do what I do not for gain, but simly to satisfy my boredom. Boredom, though you may see this as a horrible excuse for my life, but no matter what you say it is the most accurate reason why cavemen back thousands of years ago ever began drawing on walls and depicting fascinating stories. Man was able to satisfy his primal needs, and found himself with time to fill. and that time was spen creating and thinking. I am a caveman, filling my time with creation.
