- Read Dave Ramsey's "The Total Money Makeover, a proven plan for financial fitness." Dave gives easy and practical tools to assist the reader to get out of debt, and he also covers such important subjects as money myths, keeping up the the "Jones" and why that's a path to financial problems, retirement investing, paying off debt and building wealth, just to name a few. Ramsey is a leader and foremost authority in his field. His book is very good!
